Cannes is linked to the whole of Europe by a dense motorway network. We advise you to use the A8 motorway (Marseille <-> Italy) and to take exit number 42 (Cannes-Mougin exit) when you come from the Nice International Airport.

It is easy to explore this part of the coast, and you can do it in depth without retracing your steps too often. There are parallel roads, especially along the Corniches between Nice and Menton, that access different towns ans reveal different points of view.

Whether you settle into one coastal home base and make day trips from there or move from resort to city to hill village, this part of the coast has an enormous variety of place to see. It's worth it to visit different resort towns, as each has a distinct personality and its own sights. Even on a short trip, you'll want to make a foray into the hills to see one of the famous perched villages (such as Gourdon); you can visit one or two in an easy day trip, but a night or two in the backcountry offers a pleasant contrast to the seaside. On a longer sojourn, conssidering making a day trip into the hills towards the Alps.
