We spent the most wonderful two weeks staying in the lancelot over easter april 07 - the apartment was more than roomy enough for the three of us (mother, daughter, and 16yo granddaughter) the location was perfect- close to metro, great food shops in next street, lots of resturants close as well as lots of attractions within walking distance. The apartment was very well equiped -Isabelle was a pleasure to deal with answering every email promptly - we did not get to meet her but she was available other the phone- no problem with a late check out which was a huge help. I would not hesitate to stay in the same apartment or another of Isabelles and I am already planning a return in two years time

We stayed in Isabelle's apartment in the Marais district. Great position in what felt like a safe location to simply "wander in", with good local shops and restaurants, and within easy reach of key places.
Good flat at a good price. Really impressed by Isablle's team, who were very helpful. Will recommend to friends who, like us, enjoy the independence of a central apartment, at an affordable cost.

I stayed at the Lancelot apt in the Marais for two weeks this past May. I was definitely unsure about booking an apt over the internet but it was the easiest transaction and everything went smoothly.
Isabelle did everything she said she would and my stay in the apt was fabulous! I travel to Paris frequently and will most definitely keep Isabelle in mind when looking to book an apt. I would also recommend her to anyone in a hearbeat! J'aime Paris!!! Tracy

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paris at the Lancelot apartment. We felt part of the city, as we shopped at the local markets and bakeries of the neighborhood. The location of the Lancelot is idea to explore the most interesting neighborhood of many museums among the locals. We toured the city by metro from the Rue de Archives metro station. We relished returning to the Lancelot after a long day of sightseeing. It offered comfort and privacy.

Before we committed to the Lancelot, by reviewing this website and Isabelle's friendly professionalism, I knew she was a sure bet and she was.

06/20/06 Positive Three of us from the US stayed in the Lancelot apartment in the first week of June 2006. We absolutely fell in love with the apartment, and with Isabelle! The apartment is darling, very 'french', and very comfortable. Everything was in perfect order, and had everything we needed to cook, wash clothes, and in general make it our home away from home...very clean, nice smelling towels, soaps provided. Full of extra touches. Isabelle herself is a delight and very honest and personable, and so easy to do business with. I give her an A+++. Email me with questions. We are real people, and I would be happy to send pictures too. Oh, and the neighborhood is fantastic, with a coffee cafe downstairs, (the best cafe lattes!) a quaint bar across the street, and it is literally a 15 minute walk to most everything, including the amazing Notre Dame, the Seine, Picasso museum and more. It is a very upscale 'safe' neighborhood too. The Marais area is wonderful, quaint, everything you'd expect Paris to be. You'll love it!

Sincerely,

Bo Purce

06/11/06 Positive We stayed at the Blanc/Archive Street address in late May and early June of 2006. The "Lancelot" flat is small but attractive and the location is ideal with the Picasso museum, Hotel de Ville and Notre Dame close by. It's a nice neighborhood and the flat also has a small kitchen. It is perfect for two to possibly four guests.

When we entered the Lancelot apartment in Marais, Paris, our children just stared for a while. Then it was a big "wow". This is a wonderfully wonderful place, wrote our 11 years old daughter to his travel diary. To be short, the place was much more personal than we expected and a family of five could easily sleep there (after we found one of the beds, it was cleverly hidden. Go and find out). The location is very good, near the Pompidou center and Notre Dame. Everything went as Isabelle promised, it is easy to recommend this. Many thanks!

Homeowner Response:
Thank you so much!
I would like to add that Markku and Merja where my very first guests in the Lancelot apartment, and that they reserved it without seeing any picture, just relying on trust....
So thank you so much for your trust, and I am happy to see you enjoyed your stay (and my aparment) that much.

Sincerely

isabelle

1bed/1bath apartment in the 4th Arrondissement, Paris

When

April 07, 2 weeks

Location

The apartment was perfectly located in the Marais area on rue des Blancs-Manteaux - we loved the location and couldn't think of a better place to stay - central to all but very quiet street and not too touristy.

Nearby Amenities

We were a five minute walk away from closest metro Rambuteau or Hotel De ville, lots of excellent speciality food shops, grocery stores and restaurants within close walking distance.

The House/Apartment

The building was typical of many in the area - two apartments per floor, four flights of stairs, very quiet secure building. The apartment was on the third floor without a lift. Very tastefully decorated with exposed beams and stone walls. One large bedroom, small bathroom, sofa, which converted to single bed and double bed that pulled out from wall.

Garden

No outside area other than both living rooms windows that opened to floor so we could get a good view out.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Apartment was very clean and tastefully decorated - a couple of the pieces of furniture had seen better days though - plenty of room for three people.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Beds very comfortable and plenty of bedding. Bathroom fine though a little cramped, lots of storage room though.

Kitchen

Very well stocked kitchen - small cooker, small dishwasher, bar fridge and front loading washing machine - certainly big enough to cook for three people.

Problems or Bonuses

The hallway and stairs were probably a little bit more run down than I excepted and most days very smelly - combination of cooking smells, smoke and cats! The apartment though was like an oasis - bedroom as gorgeous with silk lined walls and ceiling. The living area did seem a little smaller than the pictures but fine for three.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Isabelle was very easy to deal with - all emails were answered promptly and every question addressed. Small hiccup with plans on arrival no one to meet us and when we contacted, she informed us key was in letterbox as per email, which we never received. Paid a small deposit and balance on arrival - apartment €1000 per week in April.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would certainly use same agency again she has a great selection of apartments in great areas.

Things to do in this area

What we loved most was the neighbourhood feel to the surrounding streets yet you are only blocks from such well known sights as Notre Dame, Hotel de Ville, Pompidou Center, Picasso Museum, Musée Carnavalet, Place des Vosges, Victor Hugo Museum, the Bastille and Hotel de Sully.

Lots of of restaurants, and bars - plus very close to metro and Les Halles station for RER connection.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Isabelle's 'Lancelot' apartment in The Marias, Paris. The apartment is in a great central location - we walked everywhere! The apartment was very comfortable for our family of four and was equiped with everything we needed. Isabelle was very welcoming and had many useful tips for our stay in Paris.

Hello.

I just got back from my firtst trip to Paris. It was wonderful. We decided, after looking at advice here, to take an apartment instead of staying in hotels. It was a great idea. After doing lots of research of all kinds of websites, we settled on:

http://www.apartment-in-france.com . I'm posting about that website here now, as I could find nothing about it when I looked before deciding to book.

These are apartments are owned and rented by a French woman named Isabelle, who spent quite a bit of time in the US, so knows what Americans like and need.

We stayed in the "Lancelot" which was near Notre Dame, Picasso Museum, Hotel Deville, the Seine, Saint Chapelle and the Louve. It was in a fantastic location, and we coulnd't have been happier with the price or the accommodations. I thouroughly recommend her apartments in Paris. We liked it so much we may stay in one of her apartments next year in Italy!

I loved my trip to Paris and will post more about the triip later. Thanks to all who post here....it really helped me out!

We rented the Lancelot 2 weeks ago and it is fabulous! Isabelle has 4 or 5 other apartments in Paris, and you can see pictures online. She was great, met us at the apartment, answered questions and the apartment was beautiful with lots of extras.
