While searching on the Internet, you will find info about a special Paris metro pass dedicated to tourists, allowing you to visit Paris and the close suburbs for short periods of time, from 1 day up to 5 days. This pass is called the Paris visit pass, or Paris Visite.
Though this pass is much more expensive than regular passes Parisians would buy...
As an example, a 5 days "Paris Visit Pass" will cost you about 30 or 35 €, whereas a regular weekly pass (called "coupon hebdomadaire") only costs about 16 €!
The main advantage of the "Paris Visit Pass" versus the "coupon hebdomadaire" is that it is valid exactly during the time you plan to be in Paris (1, 2, 3 or 5 days starting the day of the week you want).
The main disadvantages of the "coupon hebdonnadaire" is that:
- it compulsorily starts on monday mornings, though it lasts a full week for a much cheaper price!
- you will need one photo to put on the document/ID that goes with the "coupon hebdomadaire".
Watch out: carrying your passport with you all the time won't help for that: you need to bring another photo to put on that specific document you will be given when you purchase the coupon hebdomadaire...
So it might be worth it carrying a small photo with you! :-)
