Musée Delacroix

This museum is located 6 place Furstemberg, 75006 Paris, metro Saint-Germain-des-prés.

The apartment and studio where the great Romantic painter Eugène Delacroix past the last 6 years of his life is now a small but charming museum, restored in 1991. The place Furstemberg itself has hardly changed over the past century or so and still has a provincial atmosphere, with its flowering trees and decorative streetlights. Visiting this museum is more a chance to experience the calm and character of Delacroix's environment than to see his paintings, most of which are safely and beautifully displayed in the Louvre.
