I’m not too concerned about getting a newer model because I just wanted to have a phone on hand for emergencies when we’re out and about. If I rent one in the U.S. I have to buy a France SIM card for it. The US price is too expensive for the occasional use I would give it. If you do find a phone I can use, what would I have to do to activate it?. Would I sign up with a phone company and then buy a block of time? It all sounds complicated! Since cell phones are a major tool of communication now, If I buy a phone card, will I be able to find a public telephone easily? In the US a phone call from a public booth can be extremely expensive. I’m sorry to burden you with so many questions, but I believe you are a better source than the guidebooks.
