What Isabelle can do for you:

As many of you are used to the convenience of carrying a cell phone, I have ask my young colleague to get a few of them, to be able to provide you with that facility during your stay in Paris!

If you want to reserve one of these cell phones, you need to tell me in advance. I will "book" one of them for you according to the availability I have (as this is not my primary activity!!! :-)

Let me quote Business Week: "You can also rent cell phones as you travel. In Paris, you can get one for about $1 per minute for local calls and $4.50 a minute for out-of-country calls. Rates like that might deter some, but not those who need a phone wherever they go."

Renting a cell phone from my young colleague will cost you

=> 25 €/week, + 10 € for the cheapest prepaid phone card which she will purchase for you in advance...

- These mobiles work with prepaid phone cards (brand: Orange)

- It is totally free of charge to receive calls in France, even from abroad: you will not pay anything!

- It is not cheap to call abroad from a cell phone, so I would recommend you to call your relatives using an international phone card available anywhere (7.5 €), and a regular phone (inside the apt or a payphone on the street) => I will tell you more upon arrival.

Pls avoid bringing these phone cards you can purchase in advance in your country: they are expensive and might not work from any phone in Paris (particularly from the phone I provide you with inside the apartment)...

- Basically, the cell phone will allow you to be reachable all the time, and to make several calls (taxi, restaurants, me, SMS...) in case you need.
