Shopping
At magazin stands (les marchands de journaux) throughout Paris, you can find monthly publications, such as "le chineur", which contain information on brocantes, marchés aux puces, antique shops, and several exhibitions for the Paris area, listed by date and arrondissement. In addition to the two locations listed below, you may want to head over to the left bank and wander around the sixth arrondissement, especially between rue des saints-pères and St. Michel, and Boulevard St. Germain and the river. The antique shops in this area sell high quality and expensive items.

Auctions are held every day at 2pm aat this state-run auction house just off boulevards Haussmann. If you want to find out whet is being auctioned, consult "La Gazette de l'Hotel Drouot", a weekly magazine describing upcoming auctions.
